Mary graduated with a degree in journalism and started working for Architectural Digest's founder Paige Rense. Later, she started the her own Mary Finds section. The section featured videos that were given on how you can improve and beautify your home. After returning to Texas she opened a shop named after her that was a specialist in antiques. A&E Television producer noticed her while she ran her antiques business and invited her to take part in Texas Storage War. Three seasons were spent on the series. In the fifth season, her fame led to her being a part of Storage Wars. Storage Wars seasons 5-12 have seen her appear on-and-off on the reality show.
