She has an extensive collection of antiques which is sourced from auctions, estate sales and storage units. Mary obtained a degree from photojournalism and began working for Architectural Digest's founding editor Paige Rense. Later, she created an own Mary Finds section. The section featured videos that were shown on how you can improve and beautify your house. When she returned to Texas she started a business under her same name that was a specialist in antiques. A&E Television spied her in her antiques shops and she was invited to participate in Texas Storage wars. The show ran through three seasons. She was cast for the fifth season Storage Wars because she had become popular. Storage Wars was a part of her daily life through subsequent seasons. She has been on and off the show up until the 12th season.
