Morgan Smith
Morgan has graduated from Columbia College, Columbia University and Columbia University, as well as the Mannes College of Music. In New York City he was chosen to be an Seattle Opera "young artist" (1999-2000). The singer made his professional debut at Seattle Opera in 2001 in Billy Budd. Smith is a Seattle popular, has appeared in more than 12 productions which include Don Giovanni in the title character, Silvio and I Pagliacci in I Pagliacci as well Riccardo of I Puritani. He also appeared as Peter Niles, in Mourning Then Electra. Smith has been a regular performer, made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion. He also performed the North American premier of Detlef Glanert's orchestral adaptation of Brahmsloved cycle Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange in The San Antonio Symphony. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the Requiems composed by Brahms as well as Faure and Mozart as well as the masses composed in C Minor and G Minor composed by Vaughan Williams, Bach's B Minor Mass and many Cantatas; H ndel's Messiah, L'Allegro il Penseroso and the Moderato. and Haydn's The Creation, Lord Nelson Mass and Haydn's The Creation are also included in the concert repertoire.
